Visits & Events

The Trust arranges an annual programme of visits to a wide variety of gardens, from historic country estates to newly created or developing gardens.

We are fortunate in often being able to arrange visits to a number of gardens not normally open to the public.  Wherever possible, we encourage the owners of these gardens to lead the tour and give their own personal commentary and insight into the creation and maintenance of the gardens.

For 2007, our programme includes the history and memories of a garden now run by the National Trust, an old garden in North Cornwall, a new structural garden in the West and some other young gardens, and an ancient estate in South Cornwall.

Our autumn Newsletter gives an outline of the forthcoming programme, with full details (times, charges and booking form) sent to members in the following February, so that they can plan which visits they wish to attend.

The Trust also organises occasional talks, given by speakers well known in their particular field. These talks can cover virtually any aspect of gardens or historic landscapes. Social events (lunches, dinners etc.) are also arranged for members and their guests to enjoy.

Please note that many of these visits are strictly limited in terms of numbers – so it is essential to book ahead! For information about the programme, please contact our Secretary, Peter Fairbank: [email protected] or telephone or fax: 01326 372293.
